St. Lucia Day

This week Kingfishers have enjoyed our Christmas traditions of making Christingles for the school Christingle service on Wednesday and attending the pantomime on Thursday. As Thursday was the 13th December, they also learned about the Swedish festival of St. Lucia which is celebrated on this day every year, where a girl from each family dresses up in white robes, wears a crown of candles and carries a tray of homemade biscuits to share. On Friday Kingfishers were lucky enough to have a go at making some Swedish gingerbread biscuits, called pepparkakor, some of which will be available for you to try after the performance on Wednesday evening!
