Well, what a start to our ‘Who Celebrates’ (Festivals and Celebrations) topic this term. We were expecting ‘bangs’ and ‘sparkles’, but Mrs Fisher took it far too seriously. Her hand is on the mend, and she is feeling less shaky now. This week we have been thinking about Firework Safety, writing instructions to keep safe, and writing our own poems. There were some super ideas flowing from the children, “Fireworks squealing and moaning, roaring and twirling”. A special mention to Will and Rufus for their fantastic work. We enjoyed Anita’s visit from Life Education, she was amazed by the children’s knowledge of proteins and carbohydrates. We had a muddy visit to Forest School, sorting leaves and finding out about how they change colour as Autumn arrives. We heard the lovely Leaf Man story and made our own characters. As well as thinking in RE ‘what we think God is like’, we also had time to create the display for the back wall to remind us of our topic. A busy week!celebrations
