On Thursday 21st May Owls had their DT day. We worked on two projects during the day, one related to our Viking topic and the second to tie in with our science work this term focussing on light.
Our first project was to make a Viking longship. This involved cutting out templates and sticking them together. For the mast we used drinking straws and then the children thought about the design on the sails. Viking would usually have plain or striped sails so we tried to stick to this to keep it authentic. The children really enjoyed the activity and we ended up with a whole fleet of authentic looking Viking ships!
