Kingfishers have had an exciting week learning about the Great Fire of London in 1666. They found out
about a famous writer called Samuel Pepys, who wrote a diary telling us all about the Fire; how it burned
for four days and destroyed thousands of houses and churches in London including the original St Paul's
Cathedral but luckily only a very few people died. Kingfishers have had fun trying on a leather hat such
as people wore when fighting the fire (there were no firefighters' helmets in those days), carrying a
leather bucket full of water and using a quill similar to the one Samuel Pepys used to write his diary!
